Patrick’s Fresh Catch is an SMS alert list run by Patrick, an independent commercial fisherman out of Santa Cruz Harbor. By joining, you agree to receive text messages from this list. That’s the whole deal.
Texts go out only when Patrick has fresh catch to sell. Some weeks that’s twice. Some weeks it’s zero. Weather, season, and the fish decide — not us.
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Patrick doesn’t charge for the texts themselves.
When you reply to claim a catch, you’re placing a hold, not paying online. You pay Patrick on pickup at Santa Cruz Harbor — cash or Venmo. If you don’t show, the fish goes to the next person.
Fresh seafood is a natural product. Availability, weight, and species are best-effort, not guaranteed. Cook it well. Don’t eat raw fish you got from a stranger’s text list unless you really know what you’re doing.
You don’t have to be on this list to buy fish from Patrick. The texts are a convenience; nothing more.
If we ever change these terms, the version at the top of this page is the one that counts. We’ll text the list if anything material changes.
